Maintenance method of car heating system in winter
In winter, as the temperature gradually decreases, the car’s heating system has become a necessary companion for our travel. However, the frequent use of the heater system also means that we need to pay more attention to its care and maintenance to ensure that it provides us with a stable and efficient service on cold days. In order to ensure the normal operation of the heating system and prolong its service life, the Minda Automotive recommends that car owners regularly carry out the following maintenance work:
1. Check your antifreeze regularly
Make sure the amount of antifreeze is in the right amount to avoid overheating or freezing the engine due to insufficient amounts. Hybrid antifreeze is recommended to be replaced annually, and different brands and models of products should not be mixed.
2. Check the heating system regularly
Include critical components such as the heater core and blower to ensure they are not damaged or clogged. In order to improve the efficiency of the system, it is recommended to keep the heating system clean to prevent the growth of bacteria. At the same time, avoid closing the windows for a long time when using the heater to ensure air circulation.
3. Radiator maintenance
Check the radiator regularly to ensure that the coolant is clear and to prevent the system from getting too hot. When turning on the air conditioner, avoid using the external circulation mode to prevent dust from entering the system. In addition, check the drainage holes on the left and right sides to prevent rainwater from backing up into the heat dissipation system.
4. Keep the air conditioner filter clean
Replace the air conditioner filter regularly to prevent dust and debris from entering the heating system and affecting its performance.
5. Reasonable start of the heating system
After starting the vehicle, it is recommended to wait for the engine to warm up to normal water temperature before turning on the heater to ensure efficient use of energy. Avoid turning on the heater immediately when the engine is not fully warmed up, so as not to increase the burden on the engine and reduce the efficiency of the system.
6. Clean the water tank and blower
After a long drive, dust tends to accumulate on the outside of the radiator, which will affect the heat dissipation efficiency. Clean the outside of the water tank regularly to ensure that the cooling system is working properly. At the same time, regularly check and replace the blower to ensure the stable operation of the heating system.
7. Check the warm air and water pipes
Deterioration, rupture or blockage of the heating water pipes may result in a decrease in the effectiveness of the heating pipes. Check the condition of the water pipes regularly, and replace or clean them in time if there are problems to ensure the best performance of the heating system.
8. Thermostat check
The thermostat is a key component that controls the flow of coolant, and its failure can affect the effectiveness of the heating system. Regularly check the working status of the thermostat and replace it if necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the system.
9. Use warm air appropriately
Avoid using high-gear heaters for long periods of time, as this may cause excessive strain on the battery and engine. Rational use of the heating system can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the vehicle and extend its service life
With regular care and maintenance, the heater system can be kept running efficiently and reliably, ensuring that you can enjoy a comfortable driving experience during the cold winter months.
